Staying Organized on Ubuntu Linux with Sticky Notes and Tomboy Notes

I've been using Linux for a few years and have found it to be a great productivity improvement over Windows. I recently started using a couple of new programs: Tomboy Notes and Sticky Notes.

If you are using Ubuntu Linux (or probably any GNOME-based distro), the two note programs should already be installed. Just right-click on the panel at the top of the screen and choose "Add to panel".

Then choose either of the two note-taking programs that are highlighted in the image below:

Here is an example note in Tomboy:

Sticky Notes is similar to Tomboy in some ways, but it is different enough that you might find it useful to use both programs. The Sticky Notes program creates yellow post-it notes on your desktop. The Sticky Notes stay there even if after you reboot your computer.
