Walmart Blocks Firefox Browser

As seen on DesignByCSS.com, Walmart is blocking people who try to view their video download site with Firefox. Apparently, their designers were not able to make a CSS file that would load in Firefox, so they sniff the browser with JavaScript and if it's Firefox, they block access with the following screen:

If you go to the Walmart video site with Firefox and the user agent set to Internet Explorer, Walmart's site shows the following mess:

If you didn't already have enough reasons to hate Walmart, there is now another one.

The Walmart movie has some great information if you haven't seen it yet...

That's just... really, really sad.

There are GOOD programmers out there somewhere starving and selling their offspring into slavery so that they can feed the rest of the family for the rest of the week...

And then there's the 78-year-old Wal*Mart[(TM) Wal*Mart Corp, All Rights Reserved] greeter who makes a big stink about the raise she was supposed to be guaranteed at the end of her nine month employee evaluation cycle, and out of sheer powers of annoy-o-smission ends up with a transfer into a much more lucrative position- General Manager of Production Grade Middleware Implementation- simply because nobody knew what that big long title really stood for.

At least, that's the only plausible explanation I can come up with for such a sorry excuse for an excuse of a website out of one of the wealthiest, most sprawliocious companies on the face of our globe.

But I've been told that Walmart's saving grace is their willingness to hire the mentally challe- ahem... I mean- (how can I say this in the most politically correct manner)- for their willingness to hire the Differently Retarded.

So who really knows.
